Hugh Wedlock Jr., 85, comedy writer for film, radio and television who provided gags for Jack Benny and Eddie Cantor. Wedlock wrote for the big screen in the 1940s, including such movies as “The Good Fellows” in 1943 and “Abbott and Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff” in 1949. In addition to writing for Benny and Cantor, Wedlock also wrote television scripts for Jack Oakie and Edgar Bergen and for the comedy series “Laugh-In.” On Monday in Los Angeles of heart failure.
