San Dimas : Free Nonalcoholic Drinks
As part of National Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month, many bars and restaurants in San Dimas and other East San Gabriel Valley cities will provide free nonalcoholic drinks to the designated driver in any group of imbibers.
“Let’s Take a Stand! Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk,” is the theme of the campaign, now in its third year, conducted by the Walnut-San Dimas sheriff’s station, the California Highway Patrol and a coalition of local agencies.
Under the program, one person among a group of people is given the “Designated Driver” pin, a blue and white pin with a hand holding a key.
The driver receives complimentary coupons for nonalcoholic drinks that can be redeemed later at some participating businesses for free car washes or dinner.
Establishments participating in the program will display a window decal, posters or brochures.
