Manson Fashions Gain Popularity

Convicted mass murderer Charles Manson has gone commercial--and his items are selling fast.

Manson, who is serving a life sentence in Corcoran State Prison, has an officially licensed T-shirt and is earning royalties on a song recorded by the popular rock band Guns N’ Roses.

Several San Francisco stores also sell Manson hats, jackets, dresses, leggings, hair clips and children’s clothing.

Manson’s popularity is mostly among those too young to remember the August, 1969, Tate-La Bianca killings.

At the Villains clothing store in San Francisco, Jeff Shinduke, 22, was among those browsing through racks containing four different unlicensed Manson T-shirts.

“He’s misunderstood,” Shinduke said. “There is more to him than has been reported. I kind of doubt he’s just whacked.”
