Chrysler Enhances Van Lease Program: Chrysler Corp., facing growing competition in the minivan market, launched a major leasing promotion on the vehicles that could spark a price war. Chrysler, whose minivans dominate the market, is offering 24-month leases until March 31 to complement its current $500 rebate incentive. The program, called Gold Key Lease/Plus, offers Chrysler’s short wheelbase, seven-passenger van with a V-6 engine for $209 a month, with a $1,500 down payment. Analysts said the program is a preemptive strike against Ford’s new Windstar front-drive minivan, which will debut in early 1994.
