Los Angeles County will sponsor five Christmas tree recycling centers across the San Gabriel Valley this holiday season, the Board of Supervisors has announced.
According to spokesman Dennis Morefield, trees can be dropped off at Schabarum Regional Park at 17250 E. Colima Road in Rowland Heights; Charter Oak Park at 20261 E. Covina Blvd. in Covina; Crescenta Valley park at 3901 Dunsmore Ave. in La Crescenta; Eaton Canyon Nature Center at 1750 N. Altadena Drive in Pasadena, and Allen J. Martin Park at 14380 S. Giordano St. in La Puente.
Trees will be recycled Sunday and the following weekend, Jan. 8 and 9, Morefield said, adding that all decorations must be removed. Participants will receive a coupon for a free bag of mulch when they drop off their trees, and $3 discount coupons for Universal Studios Hollywood will be given away while they last.
