Keeping a ‘Journal’

Share

I look forward to watching “American Journal” (KCAL) each night; it’s one of the best and informative programs around. Nancy Glass knows her job and does it well.

‘Hallmark’s’ Quality

I just wanted to say one of the best shows I’ve seen on TV was “Dancing With the White Dog” (CBS, Dec. 5). I cried all night long because I’m a father, a grandfather and a great-grandfather. I’ve never enjoyed a TV show like this one.

Trains in Motion (Pictures)

I’m writing to say how much I enjoyed the AMC program “All Aboard: Riding the Rails of American Film.” The show beautifully presented the story of the railroad in the motion picture and was superbly narrated by Jason Robards. The only problem was it lasted only one hour. Perhaps there will be an “All Aboard II.” The show is deserving of an Emmy.

‘Povich’ Shows No Respect

It seems “The Maury Povich Show” is just another contribution to the decline of Western civilization. Preying on emotional weaknesses of human beings, magnified under the camera eye, is not an essential part of a respectful, dignified show structure. The show airing on Dec. 1 (KCAL) about the imprisoned practicioner was truly horrifying. Any possibility of parole or even proper rehabilitation, if he is found guilty, was probably obliterated by this public witch hunt.
