GE in Venture With Large Chinese Lighting Maker: General Electric Co.’s GE Lighting agreed to form a joint venture with the largest lighting manufacturer in China, Shanghai Jaibao Industry and Commerce Co., both companies said. They said the venture to make and sell a full line of products in China’s $550-million lighting market will be the first of several between GE and the Shanghai government. Under the agreement, GE Lighting will have a 65% stake in the business and Jaibao will hold 35%. Financial terms were not disclosed.
