IRS Payments

* Re the editorial Dec. 22, “They Rarely Clean Up in Their Old Age.”

You refer to “complicated quarterly filings” and “onerous paperwork,” when nothing could be further from the truth.

The quarterly form could not be simpler. You enter the total quarterly payments paid to the employee. Multiply that amount by 15.3% and write a check to the IRS in that amount and mail it with the form in the envelope provided by the IRS.

It is outrageous that affluent employers, such as Bobby Inman and the others, do not comply with the law and it is inhumane to the domestic workers who work these menial jobs rather than rely on welfare and then are denied retirement benefits as well.
