The Washington Redskins are interested in Dallas offensive coordinator Norv Turner as their new coach, but NFL rules prohibit them from talking to Turner until the Cowboys have been eliminated from the playoffs. . . . Houston defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan is interested in either of the NFL’s two coaching vacancies at Washington or Atlanta. “I’d like to talk to anybody who has a head coaching job available,” Ryan was quoted in Wednesday’s Houston Chronicle. “Maybe we can win the Super Bowl, and somebody will be interested in me.” . . . Detroit running back Barry Sanders, who sprained his left knee in a Thanksgiving Day loss to the Chicago Bears, practiced for the first time Wednesday. If he feels right, Sanders will start Saturday when the Lions play host to Green Bay in a first-round NFC playoff game. . . . Cincinnati Bengal running back Harold Green said he would have no objections if the team uses its No. 1 draft choice to pick San Diego State running back Marshall Faulk.
