Top Execs Rewarded by Rockwell: Rockwell International Corp. gave its top five executives nearly $8 million in “long-term compensation” for fiscal 1993 after not awarding them any such payments the previous year, the company’s latest proxy statement shows. Donald R. Beall, chairman of the Seal Beach-based maker of automotive, aerospace and industrial goods, was awarded $3.5 million--along with options covering 240,000 Rockwell common shares--in long-term compensation for Rockwell’s fiscal year ended Sept. 30. The payout was in addition to Beall’s 1993 salary of $815,000 and a bonus for that year of $900,000. In fiscal 1993, Rockwell’s profit rose 16% to $562 million, from $483 million, excluding a onetime charge, the previous year. During the three years ended Sept. 30, Rockwell eliminated 10,000 jobs.
