Gore to Lead White House Mourners to O’Neill Rites

WASHINGTON —
Vice President Al Gore will head the U.S. government’s delegation to the funeral of former House Speaker Thomas P. (Tip) O’Neill Jr., the White House said Friday.
O’Neill died Wednesday night in Boston at age 81. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday in Cambridge, Mass. President Clinton will be out of the country on a nine-day, five-nation trip that begins with a NATO summit in Belgium.
