Jastrem, Waugaman Given Top Spots at Acme Holdings

John F. Jastrem has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of Acme Holdings Inc., an equipment rental company based in Irvine, as part of an overall management reorganization. Jastrem had been executive vice president and chief operating officer since August, 1993. Ira Mendelsohn will continue as chairman and chief executive of Acme. Before joining the company, Jastrem was senior vice president and chief financial officer of Knapp Communications Corp., publisher of Architectural Digest and Bon Appetit magazines, which were recently sold to Conde Nast Publications. He was also chief financial officer for Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co., a metals distribution company; and part of Wickes Cos. management team. In addition, Douglas A. Waugaman has been appointed vice president and chief financial officer, succeeding Bruce A. Warren, who will serve as a consultant to the company for the next several months. Waugaman was previously vice president of finance for Knapp Communications Corp. Dan V. Olson has been chosen for the new post of director of finance and tax. Olson formerly held positions with Collins and Aikman Group Inc., most recently as director of federal and state tax compliance. Larry Morrison has been appointed to the newly created post of acting vice president of information services. Morrison was previously senior partner of Andersen Consulting. And Simon Lu will be joining the company Feb. 2 as director of information technology, reporting to Morrison. Lu was formerly in charge of computer systems for Conde Nast’s West Coast operations.
