London Fog to Merge With Pacific Trail: The move would extend London Fog’s lead in the rainwear and outerwear markets. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. London Fog Corp., owned by Merrill Lynch & Co.’s venture capital subsidiary, said it has signed a letter of intent to merge with Pacific Trail’s parent, PTI Holding Corp. The combined company could have 1994 revenue of about $500 million, London Fog said. The new company would be called London Fog Corp., though Pacific Trail Inc. would keep its management and brand name as it operates as a division of London Fog. Seattle-based Pacific Trail, owned by GKH Partners L.P. of Chicago, is expected to post 1993 sales of about $60 million. London Fog, based in Eldersburg, Md., had sales of about $350 million.
