The National Park Service’s 1994 winter activity guide for the Santa Monica Mountains is available free of charge.

Arts: Photo Exhibit on Nepalese Culture
The Shannon White Gallery will exhibit photographs from Kevin Bubriski’s recently published book “Portrait of Nepal” today through March 5.
Bubriski spent four years during the 1970s as a Peace Corps volunteer based in Nepal. Since then he has spent much of his time photographing the people of the Himalayan mountain country.
The gallery is at 8214 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Information: (213) 655-5454.
Education: School District Member to Host Meeting
Mark Slavkin, the Los Angeles Unified School District board member who represents the Westside, will host a town hall meeting Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brockton Avenue Elementary School library.
Topics will include the cluster proposal on district organization, an update on public school choice, the LEARN reform program and the state budget.
