Nation IN BRIEF : PENNSYLVANIA : N.Y. School Rejects Harassment Suspect

A Swarthmore College freshman who agreed to attend another school at the college’s expense because he was accused of harassing a female classmate was rejected from Columbia University. Ewart Yearwood, 18, was rejected “based on his academic record,” a statement from university spokesman Fred Knubel said. Yearwood’s departure from the Swarthmore, Pa., school came after another freshman, Alexis Clinansmith, 18, complained that he harassed her last semester. Yearwood denies the claims.
