ROUNDUP : Hearvey Leads Magnolia to Victory Over Western
Brandon Hearvey had 21 points, 13 rebounds and five assists to lead host Magnolia in a 64-50 victory over Western in a Orange League game Friday night.
Frank Henderson added 13 points for Magnolia (12-6, 2-1).
Richard Mackie had 19 points for Western, which dropped to 9-9, 0-3.

Valencia 46, Anaheim 28--Jason Miele had 12 points and eight rebounds, Erik Jackley added 12 points and seven rebounds and Max Zamora scored 10 points to lead host Valencia (9-8, 3-0). Frank Castillo scored 12 points for Anaheim (0-3 in league).
Savanna 45, Brea-Olinda 40--Paul Wilson scored 19 points to lead Savanna (9-7, 3-0), which remained tied with Valencia for first in league. Matt Bodiford scored 12 points for Brea-Olinda (5-14, 1-2), which was tied, 20-20, at halftime.
In the Academy League:
Liberty Christian 92, St. Michael’s 34--Bob McClung had 27 points and Dave Vaccaro 20 to lead Liberty Christian (5-9, 1-1).
St. Margaret’s 102, Compton Southeast Lutheran 27--Damian Raibon scored 28 points and had 10 rebounds as St. Margaret’s (11-3, 3-0) scored more points in the third quarter, 30, than Southeast Lutheran scored the entire game.
In the Century League:
Canyon 64, El Modena 62--John Werhaus scored 19 points and Darren Bunkley added 15 for host Canyon (6-10, 1-2). Ryan Villmer led El Modena (6-10, 1-2) with 28 points.
Orange 76, Villa Park 36--Gil Gonzales scored 24 points, including six three-pointers, and David Neal added 12 points, seven assists and eight rebounds, for host Orange (15-2, 3-0). Gonzales was nine of 11 from the field.
Santa Ana Valley 77, Foothill 59--Olujimi Mann led third-ranked Santa Ana Valley (17-2, 3-0) with 28 points as the Falcons outscored Foothill 43-25 in the second half.
In the Express League:
Long Beach Gethsemane 58, Huntington Beach Claremont 56--Gavin Watson had 32 points and 20 rebounds and Steve Kimble had 14 points and eight points for Claremont (4-5, 1-5).
In Freeway League boys’ basketball:
La Habra 59, Sunny Hills 48--La Habra (12-7, 1-2) trailed by 13 in the third quarter before outscoring the Lancers (8-10, 2-1) 35-13 in the second half. Dan Ploog led the Highlanders with 22 points.
Sonora 61, Fullerton 52--Chad Fister had 27 points, including five three-pointers, and nine rebounds and Sergio Hernandez added 13 points for host Sonora (15-4, 2-1). Jason Ruckman scored 16 points for Fullerton (10-9, 2-1).
Troy 49, Buena Park 36--Troy (12-7, 3-0) stayed on top of the league standings with a victory at home. Rick Parmenter led Troy with 15 points and Jeff Sand added 13.
In the Olympic League:
Ontario Christian 82, Orange Lutheran 63--Tony Rifberg had 13 points to lead Orange Lutheran (1-12, 0-3). Eric DeGroot had 23 points for Ontario Christian.
Whittier Christian 75, Calvary Chapel 63--Whittier Christian (13-2, 4-0) stayed on top of league play as Trevor Ream scored 23 points and Tyler Ream added 19.
In the South Coast League:
Capistrano Valley 76, San Clemente 58--Brandon Puffer scored 24 points and Todd Thornton added 16 for host Capistrano Valley (14-4, 3-0). Phinney Gardner led San Clemente with 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Luke Mannix scored 15 points.
Dana Hills 68, Mission Viejo 51--Brian Ralph scored 15 points to lead host Dana Hills (8-10, 1-2). Tyler Kalkucsh scored 21 points for Mission Viejo (6-8, 0-3).
Mater Dei 97, El Toro 25--Clay McKnight scored 21 points, Miles Simon had 15 points and 15 assists, Schea Cotton added 18 points and 10 rebounds and Chris Burgess scored 10 points to lead visiting Mater Dei (18-0, 3-0), the top-ranked team in the county.
