Share

A Lockheed executive was selected Friday to head the defense company’s CalComp Inc. computer graphics division, replacing William Conlin, who left in November after 10 years as president.

Gary R. Long succeeds Conlin as head of the 1,600-employee division. CalComp makes computer graphics peripheral equipment, such as plotters and digitizers, which are used to print complex graphics like engineering drawings.

Long will report to Val P. Peline, president of Lockheed’s electronic systems group, who headed CalComp temporarily while a search for Conlin’s replacement took place. Long was formerly president of CalComp’s digitizer division in Scottsdale, Ariz.
