QVC Extends Offer: In the wake of Viacom Inc.’s decision to raise its bid for Paramount Communications Inc., rival QVC Network Inc. said it will extend its tender offer to midnight Jan. 31, which coincides with the expiration date of Viacom’s offer. QVC made no change to its bid, although Wall Street traders said they expect QVC to bolster the securities portion by Jan. 31. Meanwhile, the Paramount board is expected to meet Friday to consider the new Viacom bid.
