The Boston Red Sox and Expos are expected to announce that Montreal General Manager Dan Duquette is switching teams.

The Red Sox have been negotiating with Expo President Claude Brochu to have Duquette released from his contract, which runs through this season.

Duquette, a native of Dalton, Mass., was quoted in Wednesday’s Boston Herald as saying he expected the problems to be resolved within days. The teams were said to be considering a plan in which Duquette would join the Red Sox in midseason, giving him time to train his successor.
