FULLERTON : College President Borst Will Retire
Philip W. Borst, president of Fullerton College for 17 years, announced this week that he will retire June 30.
Borst, 65, said Thursday that he began making plans two years ago to retire at the end of this school year. The community college has about 18,000 students, primarily from Fullerton, Anaheim, La Habra, Placentia, Yorba Linda and Buena Park.
“If I chose, I could stick around a couple more years. But I have other things I want to do,” Borst said. “I plan to do some consulting, look into some business ventures, do some writing, enjoy my grandchildren and tend to my rose garden.”
No successor has been named. A new president will be chosen by the North Orange County Community College District Board of Trustees.
