Like thousands of families throughout the United States, Ronald and Anna Cullins of Atlanta plan to have friends in Sunday afternoon while they watch the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills duke it out in Super Bowl XXVIII on television.

But the game will have a special meaning to the Cullins, who were among four families in Atlanta to receive new homes this week thanks to Habitat For Humanity International and the National Football League.

The homes were built in just 10 days by nearly 20 football stars and television celebrities who participated in an event billed as the “Super Bowl Habitat Blitz Build.”

A segment for ABC’s “Home Improvement,” starring Tim Allen and Patricia Richardson, also was filmed on site.

It will be the first time Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing, will be included in a prime-time TV show. It will air March 2.
