Molested Girl Deserves Thanks for Her Courage
* Your story “Girl Awarded $2 Million in Molestation Lawsuit” (Jan. 8) was sensitively written and pointed out some of the problems children have should they decide “to tell.”
Young Desiray’s courage and desire to protect others from possible victimization needs to be applauded. Her peers need to reach out with open hearts and open hands. They need to stand beside her and say, “Thank you.” And all children need to learn that any peer victimized sexually at the hands of an adult is innocent of any wrongdoing. There are no excuses for any adult who perpetrates these crimes on a child.
