* TRAIN STATION: The Vincent Grade/Acton Station, which was completed in five days by workers from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works and Navy Seabees, opens Monday. The first train will depart at 5:17 a.m. Take the Angeles Forest Highway exit off the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway. The station is on Sierra Highway just south of the intersection of Sierra Highway and Angeles Forest Highway.
* INSECT ZOO: Arachnids, millipedes, crustaceans and other insects in a traveling zoo may be handled by children during an open house; Raymond M. Alf Museum, 1175 W. Base Line Road, Claremont; 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, presentations at 2 and 3 p.m.; (909) 624-2798 ($1).
