A Costa Mesa-based company that provides assisted living to senior citizens announced Monday that it will provide free, temporary housing for elderly victims of the Northridge earthquake.
Seniors can choose a furnished unit at senior apartment communities owned by ARV Housing Group in Redondo Beach, Azusa, Pomona, Claremont, or at three retirement villas in Covina, San Dimas and Walnut, said company spokesman Bernard Sandalow. Housing is also available in Ontario.
Sandalow said the offer is good through March 1. Seniors will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis and will be under no obligation to buy or rent the facility in which they stay, he said. The program is being offered in cooperation with the Los Angeles chapter of the American Red Cross, Sandalow said.
