A guide on how to get disaster relief is available free of charge to quake victims and low-income individuals at Salvation Army sites throughout the county.

The 56-page guide is titled “How to Get Food, Disaster Assistance and Money.” It is being released by the Southern California Interfaith Hunger Coalition in partnership with United Way of Greater Los Angeles, Comic Relief, Los Angeles County Department of Community and Senior Citizens Services, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Los Angeles Emergency Food and Shelter Program Local Board.

The guide is available in English and Spanish and provides information on how to get food, housing, health care, legal services and other benefits. It also provides details on assistance that is available to individuals with low incomes who need help throughout the year after disasters of a personal nature.
