INGLEWOOD : Cutbacks Force Library to Cancel Subscriptions
The Inglewood Public Library has canceled its subscriptions to dozens of newspapers and magazines--from “Alaska” to “Yoga Journal”--because of recent budget cutbacks.
Desperate to satisfy the demand for some popular periodicals, library officials are asking citizens to help by donating money toward subscriptions.
The library has developed a wish list of about 60 periodicals. The list is available at the main library, 101 W. Manchester Blvd.
Miguel Alaniz, the library’s director, said canceling the subscriptions should save the library about $2,200 in the current fiscal year.
