GIFTS: Wilfred and Mary Jane Von der Ahe of North Hollywood, longtime benefactors of Catholic institutions, will donate $3 million in endowment funds over the next three years to the Los Angeles archdiocese’s three seminaries--Our Lady Queen of Angels High School Seminary in Mission Hills and St. John’s College and graduate-level seminary in Camarillo.
Interest income from the gifts will endow a faculty chair at each school and provide money for scholarships, curriculum enrichment and other projects.
SERVICE: A service of thanksgiving for surviving the Jan. 17 earthquake will be held 5 p.m. Sunday at Holy Shepherd Lutheran Church in Chatsworth. Father Robert McNamara, pastor of St. John Eudes Catholic Church in Chatsworth, and Rabbi Bernard M. Cohen, director of the Clergy Network, will speak at the church at 10347 Mason Ave.
