Firm Joins Race for Asia’s Cable TV Viewers: Po Hsin Entertainment Inc. announced it will launch Taiwan’s first cable channel aimed at the growing television audience in the region. Po Hsin, 45% owned by Taiwan’s ruling Nationalist Party, hopes to begin broadcasting Chinese-language news and entertainment throughout China, Taiwan and Southeast Asia in October on the Apstar-1 satellite, scheduled to be launched this summer. APT Satellite Co., a Beijing-controlled satellite concern based in Hong Kong, signed an agreement with Po Hsin to provide the satellite space, in a rare business pact between the Nationalist Party and a Mainland-controlled company.
