Student Defends Self-Defense Class

* My photograph was on the front page of the Los Angeles Times because I took a self-defense class with the Defense Department.

I thought it was a great way to learn how to defend yourself. I learned that you could set boundaries for yourself if people were too close. I learned targets on the body that could injure a person who was trying to do a bad thing to me.

I think other kids should take this class because they should learn how to defend themselves. I think my parents were right to send me and my brother to this class.

I think the Los Angeles Times people who wrote the article should have been there longer to see what the class really taught kids.
