And While We’re on the Subject of Irish . . .

Gene Wojciechowski just doesn’t get it. Sure, Notre Dame was probably behind the Kerrigan hit. And if you study the photos long enough, you’ll see six Catholic nuns, a leprechaun and Touchdown Jesus disassembling their AK-47s just beyond the grassy knoll. But now Wojciechowski wants us to believe that the Notre Dame hierarchy devours its own after carefully extracting what is to be extracted from the open veins of Digger Phelps. Ridiculous! What Wojciechowski doesn’t get is that the only substantive and accurate elements of his article are his unexplained vituperative attitude toward Notre Dame.

My friends and I joke that Gene Wojciechowski must have been rejected for admission to Notre Dame. What else can explain those virulent anti-Notre Dame columns in which he repeats the most scandalous accusations against the school as though they were gospel?

Columns like these make it pretty obvious that Florida State could have counted on Gene’s vote regardless of who had the better team. Gene’s vote and his column are too predictable; the guy just hates Notre Dame.
