Not a Good Idea to Slap the Hand That Feeds

Share

* I opened the Feb. 3 Valley section to find the letter of thanks and appreciation to readers and employees of The Times by the Valley Edition president, Jeffrey S. Klein.

I found his gentle words in stark contrast to the pejorative used by a staff writer to describe the San Fernando Valley. In his front page article, he referred to this large region as “Duh Valley.”

There is a clear and distinct pattern of editorial arrogance in The Times these days. If Mr. Klein truly means what he wrote, I hope he will remind others at the paper that Valley readers contribute significantly (in circulation and advertising) to the financial health of the paper. Please don’t slap the hand that feeds.
