Falletta had a couple of chances this season to make game-winning shots for the Chargers but missed each time. But given another opportunity, he came through. Falletta made a six-foot baseline jumper to give Cypress a 64-62 victory over Saddleback Wednesday in an Orange Empire Conference game. The loss dropped Saddleback into a first-place tie with Riverside. He finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Falletta, from Troy High School, came back with 11 points, 11 rebounds and four assists as Cypress beat Irvine Valley, 75-71.

Other notables:

* Eric Ambrozich, Saddleback, made 14 of 19 shots from the field, scored 30 points and had 14 rebounds as the Gauchos split two games.

* Brandon Hoalton, Rancho Santiago, pitched a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts as the Dons beat Orange Coast, 3-0.
