Countywide : Ducks Swap Tickets for Firearms Today

Share

The Mighty Ducks’ one-day tickets-for-guns exchange will be held today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Anaheim Police Department.

The exchange specifically targets handguns, but “if someone comes in with a bazooka, we’ll probably figure something out,” said Bill Robertson, spokesman for the hockey team.

Anyone turning in a firearm will receive two tickets to one of the Ducks’ remaining home games this season. Depending on how many people take the team up on the offer, though, some pairs of seats may not be together. Many of the Ducks’ remaining games are almost sold out, with only single seats available, Robertson said.

“We hope it’s a big success, but there’s no way to gauge it at this point,” he said. “But our feeling is any handguns that are brought in mean that many more off the street.”

The exchange will be held just outside the entrance to the department, at 425 S. Harbor Blvd.
