Police Question Man on Robberies

Port Hueneme police said Friday that a man arrested after allegedly trying to rob an Oxnard dairy store may be the suspect sought in two earlier armed robberies.

James Kenneth Myers, 29, was arrested on Thursday after a clerk at Chase Bros. Dairy foiled his robbery attempt by refusing to give him money and then chasing him down the street, police said. The clerk said he believed Myers’ gun was fake.

After Myers was arrested following a foot chase, police found his car parked a short distance from the dairy store on Channel Islands Boulevard. It matched a vehicle linked to a robbery the day before at the Waffle Factory in Port Hueneme, police said.

Myers also resembled a composite sketch drawn from witness descriptions of the man who robbed the Video Store on North Ventura Road on Feb. 4, Port Hueneme Police Sgt. Jerry Beck said.
