USC AREA : Residents Give Police Computer Printer
- Share via
A group of South-Central neighborhood residents and merchants has donated $500 in computer equipment to the Police Department’s Southwest Division.
“We’re hoping the computer (printer) will provide the officers some equipment they vitally need,” said George B. Parks, a member of the Committee to Honor Capt. Garrett Zimmon, formerly of the Southwest Division.
The group donated the printer last week. Funds were raised during a January event to honor the division.
“We see this as a way of helping and we also see that if we work with the youth on the street by way of the neighborhood approach we can help reduce the Police Department’s workload,” Parks said.
