Law Enforcement: A Tribute to Slain Officers
- Share via
On Feb. 14, we were all shocked and appalled to learn of the deaths of Capt. Michael Tracy and Sgt. Tom Vanderpool of the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department. Over the years, Peninsula residents have come to know and respect the members of the department as well as the other uniformed police officers who serve us well. These men and women put their lives on the line on a daily basis to protect and serve the members of our community and schools.
A senseless killing such as this serves to remind us of how precious human life is and also how fragile it can be. Their dedication will always be remembered.
Our hearts go out to the families and friends of these brave and wonderful men. The Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, its board, teachers, staff and students will always be indebted to these courageous men.
