Charity: Thanks to All Who Contributed

Share

Now that things have calmed down after the holiday season, Cheer for Children wants to thank the South Bay community and the Los Angeles Times South Bay Edition in particular for the support that enabled us to provide toys, food, clothing and shoe certificates for nearly 600 local children and families.

In addition, South Bay groups such as the employees of Northrop and Hewlett-Packard, Hughes Women Forum, M.K. Diamond, North Redondo Rotary and others too numerous to mention were instrumental in providing money and food for the needy.

Big thanks are also in order to Century Cable for their toy drive, as well as all the places where Cheer for Children had boxes for toys, including the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce, both Redondo Beach fire stations, Sport Center at King Harbor, Torrance Holiday Inn, Discovery Travel, Viking Cleaners and Chris Oliver’s Champion Chevrolet.

Thanks also to all the wonderful people who helped wrap all of those presents and entertain at our childrens’ parties, including the various South Bay Scout groups and the South Bay Volunteer Center.

Last year was a particularly tough one for many local families, but people like you made sure they were not forgotten during the holidays. You should all be proud.
