LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE : School Board to Decide on Pending Vacancy

Share

School board member Carole Siegler has announced that Tuesday’s school board meeting will probably be her last.

Siegler told the school board last week she would likely end her board membership March 1. Although she has not officially resigned her seat, earlier this month she told the board she would be moving to Tucson, Ariz., where her husband conducts business.

The school board intends to decide at Tuesday’s meeting whether to hold a special election or appoint a replacement to fill the remainder of Siegler’s 1 1/2-year term. Previously it has appointed replacements to save the $20,000 to $25,000 in election costs.

Also leaving is Andrew Meyer, assistant superintendent for business affairs and a former La Canada High School principal. He has accepted the superintendent’s position in a Santa Cruz County school district.
