SIMI VALLEY : Former First Lady to Autograph Books

Former First Lady Nancy Reagan will greet visitors and sign autographs at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library today, library officials said.

Mrs. Reagan will appear in the library gift shop from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to sign copies of her autobiography and other books on former first ladies.

The visit to the facility near Simi Valley coincides with the debut this week of two new library exhibits, both of which celebrate the home in which Mrs. Reagan lived when her husband served as President.

“Dining in the White House” features an authentic state dinner table setting, including official china, flatware, candlesticks, menus and place cards. In addition, a five-minute video entitled “The Honor of Your Presence” offers a behind-the-scenes view of how a formal White House dinner is planned and prepared.

Also on display is an exhibit called “The People’s House,” which includes more than two dozen renderings of the executive mansion, ranging from a homemade quilt to a ceramic cookie jar.
