Sentencing Date for Hernandezes Postponed Again

The sentencing date for Mission Viejo socialites Danny and Susie Hernandez has been delayed for the third time in less than a month.
They were due to be sentenced on March 4 for their part in a scheme to skim $8 million from a precious metals firm in Santa Fe Springs.
But James T. Duff, the Los Angeles attorney representing Danny Hernandez, filed court papers Wednesday asking that the sentencing be delayed indefinitely. The reason for the delay was contained in the court documents, under seal in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana.
U.S. District Judge Alicemarie H. Stotler set a March 7 hearing date to listen to Duff’s arguments for delay. Susie Hernandez was due to be sentenced April 1, but her new sentencing date will also be set at the March 7 hearing.
