A memorial service is scheduled Monday for Christy Lynne Hamilton, the rookie Los Angeles Police Department officer who was killed responding to a domestic disturbance call earlier this week. She was the LAPD’s second female officer to die in the line of duty.
Hamilton, 45, who graduated from the Police Academy last Friday, died early Tuesday after she was shot in Northridge.
A viewing is planned from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Forest Lawn’s Hollywood Hills mortuary, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles. A memorial service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Community Church of the Valley, 13248 Roscoe Blvd., Sun Valley. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, Hollywood Hills.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a fund in Hamilton’s name in care of the LAPD’s Employee Assistance Unit, Medical Liaison Section, 150 N. Los Angeles St., Room 818, Los Angeles 90012.
