WEST HOLLYWOOD : Building Fees Waived as Part of Quake Relief Effort
The city is waiving fees on inspections or repairs to earthquake-damaged buildings and offering damaged businesses a penalty-free extension on paying the business tax.
The city’s earthquake relief program also waives for 30 days a city tax on hotel rooms for people who work in West Hollywood and were displaced from their homes.
Inspection and building fees were waived for quake-affected businesses that wish to relocate to West Hollywood. The relief plan will be in place until May 17.
Earthquake damage in West Hollywood was minimal, with only a handful of buildings deemed unsafe.
But many structures had broken windows, ruptured water heaters and other similar problems.
