Santa Clara Blows Past Loyola, 98-58

SANTA CLARA —
Kevin Dunne scored a career-high 18 points Friday night as Santa Clara broke a three-game losing streak by routing Loyola Marymount, 98-58, in a West Coast Conference game.
For the Broncos (13-12 and 6-7), it was the biggest margin of victory in a WCC game since they beat Portland, 103-59, in 1978.
It was the poorest performance of the season for Loyola, which committed 20 turnovers in the first half.
Santa Clara cruised to a 40-19 first-half lead as the Lions shot only 25% from the field. The Broncos stole the ball 11 times.
Loyola (6-19, 4-9) scored only one field goal over the final 10 minutes of the first half.
For the game, Santa Clara shot 51% and had a 50-31 rebounding edge.
Wyking Jones and Bill Mazurie had 14 points for Loyola.
