Ed O’Bannon Says That He Might Consider Possibilities of Draft

Ed O’Bannon is considering leaving UCLA and making himself available to the NBA draft.

O’Bannon, a 21-year-old junior, the Bruins’ leading scorer and rebounder, said Saturday that he is undecided on whether to take advantage of a new NCAA rule that allows players to be drafted, then return to school if they do not wish to sign.

“Right now, I’m just thinking about the tournament,” O’Bannon said. “If I were a lottery pick, maybe things would be different, but right now, leaving is not on my mind.”

O’Bannon said he is leaning toward remaining at UCLA, where he is a pre-communications studies major.
