From Bloomberg Business News

Canon Computer Systems Inc. said it will ship a new version of the NextStation personal computer, a year after Next Computer Systems Inc. scrapped its own models.

Canon, which owns 17% of Next Computer, the 9-year-old company controlled by computer pioneer Steve Jobs, said it wants to raise its profile in the U.S. personal computer business as well as sell machines that run NextStep software.

“We had a lot of confidence in Canon, so we were happy to let them use our name,” said Paul Vaiss, Next’s director of strategic alliances.
