The parquet floor didn’t matter. The mystique is gone, leaving Boston Celtic remnants who last won in January.

Mark Price led five teammates in double figures Wednesday night as Cleveland won its eighth game in a row, 110-96, over the Celtics, who stretched a losing streak into a second month and a 13th game.

Price, who had 32 points and 10 assists, had 13 points in the first quarter. Boston never led after Robert Parish scored the first basket of the game on an eight-foot jump shot.

“I was hot. And when you feel that way, you just go with it,” Price said.

Sherman Douglas had 25 points and Jimmy Oliver 17 for the Celtics, who have been as cold as a New England winter.

Tyrone Hill scored 22 points, Gerald Wilkins 14 and John Williams 13 for Cleveland.

After Parish’s jump shot, the Cavaliers scored the next nine points to take the lead for good.

“Price had an all-world game,” Celtic Coach Chris Ford said. “Our defense was lacking early in the game. They were hitting wide-open jumpers and taking the ball to the basket.

“You’d expect things to be different at home after our road trip, but they weren’t.”

Portland 131, Detroit 107--Clyde Drexler scored 20 of his 28 points in the second half when the Trail Blazers outscored the Pistons, 73-43, at Auburn Hills, Mich.

The victory was the seventh in eight games for Portland.

Utah 106, San Antonio 96--Karl Malone scored 24 points and Jeff Hornacek 23 at San Antonio, where the Jazz continued its recent success against top teams and won its seventh in a row.

Miami 108, Minnesota 100--Steve Smith scored eight of the Heat’s 11 overtime points as Miami blew a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter but won at Minneapolis.
