Application Frenzy : OC HIGH: STUDENT NEWS & VIEWS
If University High School in Irvine is any indication, colleges can expect a load of mail from aspiring students. A survey of 495 seniors (24 shy of the entire class), showed:
* 287 students (58%) applied to four-year colleges. They filled out 1,610 applications and sent them to 191 schools in 41 states, the District of Columbia and five countries (Canada, England, Israel, Japan and the Netherlands), an average of 5.6 schools per student.
Survey results appeared in the student newspaper, the Sword & Shield.
