Share

The Sephardic Temple Tifereth Israel in Los Angeles has installed stained-glass “Sephardic Heritage Windows” designed by Israeli artist Raphael Abecassis.

The windows, commissioned by the Maurice Amado Foundation, will be dedicated at 11 a.m. March 13. They will serve as a living memorial to longtime temple members Dr. Morris and Regina Tarica.

Abecassis used Jewish symbols, Sephardic motifs and modern composition to complete the 22-foot-high windows, which include 6,000 separate pieces of glass.

The windows depict the history of Sephardic Jews, beginning with their expulsion from Spain in the 15th Century.

The temple, at 10500 Wilshire Blvd., is open to the public.
