Clinton to Allow Export of Satellite Technology: The Administration said it will allow U.S. companies to market sophisticated spy satellite technology to commercial customers worldwide. The policy revision, revealed last month in a plan put together by the Departments of Defense, State, Commerce and Energy, is the first major revision of the government’s export controls in 15 years. Congress must approve the proposal, which has drawn criticism from some concerned about the spread of militarily sensitive technology.
