Easter Came Early on Streets of L.A.
To all who criticize Paul Pilkington for having the audacity to win the L.A. Marathon, shame on you! The race officials paid him to run a five-minute-mile pace in order to ensure a quick winning time. He did just that, for the entire race, yet no runner chose to challenge him.
And to the sore loser, Mr. Barzaghi, if you want to run your own pace, fine, but in a race, the victory goes to the best competitor. Besides, why have a rabbit in the race in the first place, if none of the runners will run alongside him because they assume he’s going to drop out?
The point in the marathon is to get from start to finish the fastest. Paul Pilkington did that, so he deserves the money and the Mercedes.

If the people who set the field for the L.A. Marathon chose the field for the Daytona 500, I would bet on the pace car.
